Lawrence Williams, Jr Selected for ATC's EAGLE Award Date: Dec 10,2019 Lawrence Clayton Williams Jr., a native of Athens, Georgia, is a 2019 Clarke County GED graduate from Athens Technical College’s Clarke County Adult Education Program, and was selected the College’s 2020 winner of the Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education (EAGLE), by a panel of local judges made up of faculty and staff of Athens Technical College. Athens Tech Foundation Honors Phil Bettendorf Date: Dec 04,2019 The Athens Tech Foundation has honored the service of Phil Bettendorf by naming a new scholarship in his honor. The Phil Bettendorf Business and Education Scholarship will provide financial assistance to students within the Business and Education Division at Athens Technical College. The new members will join the College’s Board upon their return to session in August 2019. Athens Technical College Adds $118.1 Million Economic Impact to the Region, Study Reveals Date: Jan 29,2019 Athens Technical College’s (ATC) economic impact on its surrounding communities continues to expand, adding $118.1 million to its service area for fiscal year 2016-2017. EMSI, a leading provider of economic impact studies and labor market data, examined Athens Technical College’s economic impact through its students, employees, and alumni for that one-year period. In addition, analysts studied the institutions return on investment for students, taxpayers, and society. Data from among the institutions financial and academic operations, Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics were used in the study. Piedmont Athens Regional Has Nursing Classroom Dedicated Date: Jul 12,2018 As a sign of the continued partnership between Piedmont Athens Regional and Athens Technical College, the College has dedicated its Associate Degree of Nursing classroom and laboratory on the Athens Campus in the name of Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center. Piedmont Athens Regional has a long history of service to Athens Technical College and surrounding communities. Since 1997, the hospital has provided overall support to Athens Technical College totaling over $4,000,000 and the generosity has transformed the lives for many Athens Technical College students and graduates.
